Belgrade accepts the entry of Pristina in international organizations? (Danas)
Continuation of political negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina was announced for 25 August and talks could be completed by signing four new agreements, claim the EU sources.
As stated, the prime ministers of Serbia and Kosovo, Aleksandar Vucic and Isa Mustafa should sign agreements on energy, telecommunications, Community/ Association of Serbian municipalities (ZSO) and the document related to the principle of normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina (it is still unknown whether it will be second Brussels agreement). This "document", apparently, should contain a summary of the agreements reached, as well as topics that have yet to be negotiated: property, payment transactions, mutual claims, position of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) and the rights of the Serbian community, encouraging cross-border cooperation and cooperation in international organizations.
As it was unofficially stated, the most contentious issue is the cooperation in international organizations. If that issue would become part of the agreement that will be discussed on August 25, it would automatically make senseless the Belgrade’s diplomatic offensive against Kosovo’s membership in UNESCO. At the same time, the influential political circles in Belgrade are spreading stories that Serbian FM Ivica Dacic, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and SPC want to prevent Vucic to sign the new "principles", by forcing UNESCO story.
Brussels officials said that negotiations on cooperation and mutual non-interference in joining the international organization are on the agenda from before, but that in the first Brussels agreement entered only the provision on regional organizations. Diplomatic sources said that the signing of these agreements is important to Belgrade, because of the opening of Chapter 35 in negotiations with the EU and because of the Vienna conference which will be held on 27 August.
In Pristina, was announced that in addition to the mentioned topics, the two PMs in Brussels will talk about the fate of Peace Park in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, whose relocation was unofficially announced immediately after the signing of the agreement on the ZSO.
