Odalovic: I expect soon first indictments against KLA members (Danas, RTS)

Secretary General of the Serbian Foreign Affairs Ministry, Veljko Odalovic told Danas daily it is very important that members of the KLA command structure are invited to the Hague, adding he expects that the first indictments for the crimes against Serbs would “soon be shaped and presented.”

“We have gathered and submitted many evidences related to the direct link of people from the command structure with the committed crimes,” Odalovic said.

He also noted that Specialized Prosecution in the Hague would decide upon the status of those invited for interviews, however, he is certain “some of them shall not be witnesses.”

Asked if the investigation would reach Kosovo president and the prime minister, Hashim Thaci and Ramush Haradinaj, Odalovic responded he believes so, and whether some of them would be prosecuted would depend upon “the strength” of those who have the mandate in the specialized chambers.

Odalovic added “it is also important for the Kosovo society to move faces linked with the war crimes from political scene.”

He stressed there are numerous evidences for committed crimes, and that several hundreds of Serbs and other non-Albanians were in illegal KLA prisons.
