Committee for Kosovo and Metohija Working Group has gathered new evidence that can take Ramush Haradinaj to the indictment seat, Chairman of the Committee Milovan Drecun told RTS. He added almost 160 illegal prisons of the KLA were identified.

Drecun also told RTS the working group is doing its utmost to gather as much evidence as possible, to provide documentation and possible witnesses who would confirm the crimes committed by Ramush Haradinaj.

Chairman of the Serbian National Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun told RTS in order to continue the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue it is necessary to revoke the tariffs and stronger engagement of the international community.

RTS recalled that EU Enlargement and Neighborly Policy Commissioner Johannes Hahn said earlier resolution of the Kosovo issue is a priority for the international community and it is crucial for the development of an entire region. At the same time, the EU did not make Pristina revoke the tariffs so far.

President of European Serb Movement from Kosovo and Metohija Rada Trajkovic said the fact that Ramush Haradinaj did not speak about the details of the indictment and the hearing before The Hague Special Court indicates that perhaps there were questions related to the murders of Albanians, and this, according to Trajkovic, would negatively affect his rating, TV N1 reports.

Trajkovic said in a statement to FoNet news agency that KLA lead by Ramush Haradinaj and Hashim Thaci as one of its aims had the conflict with the-then Kosovo leader Ibrahim Rugova and his people.

Hashim Thaci and Kadri Veseli were also interviewed by the Special Court for war crimes, but unlike Haradinaj they hid it from the public, Rada Trajkovic told “Dan uzivo” broadcast on TV N1, KoSSev portal reports.

According to her, many states, among them Russia as well, possess material evidence on organ trade, something that this country uses to make influence over Thaci and the negotiation process. On the other hand, Trajkovic opined preservation of his role in the dialogue is the only thing at Thaci’s disposal to prolong the beginning of the process against him.

After the hearing at The Hague Court outgoing Kosovo Prime Minister Haradinaj arranged secret meetings with his commanders of former KLA's operational zone Pastrik brigade, Belgrade-based Blic daily reports.  According to the daily the prosecutor in The Hague had interrogated Haradinaj for an hour, and he refused to answer to his questions.

Blic further writes referring to its sources that during the conflict everything outside the Albanian border could not have happened without the approval of Haradinaj, as this was the part of the region under his control.

Ramush Haradinaj would face The Hague Court for the third time and it remains unknown if an indictment against him would be raised RTS reports today. Journalist Ljiljana Smajlovic said the witnesses are still the main problem when it comes to Haradinaj.

“Witnesses are the main problem with Haradinaj, they were afraid earlier to talk about KLA existence and let alone the crimes,” Smajlovic told RTS morning news edition.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, commenting on Ramush Haradinaj’s departure to The Hague yesterday, said he expects nothing but a farce and performance that “KLA protected the people from ‘Serbian aggressor’ and they were very successful”, RTS reports.

Asked if a date for Haradinaj’s departure to The Hague, which coincides with the 20^th anniversary of the unpunished crime against the Serbs in Staro Gracko was intentionally chosen, Vucic responded he thinks Haradinaj is not only connected to that crime but with many other crimes as well.

Director of the Center for Regionalism, Aleksandar Popov told TV N1 resignation of Ramush Haradinaj could unblock the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, if there are no new elections. But in case he returns from The Hague without indictment, it could reinforce his and the position of his political party. Still, Popov did not exclude the possibility of ‘a political engineering.’

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minster Ivica Dacic said he doesn't believe an initiative to establish a court for crimes allegedly committed by Serbs in Kosovo will receive international support.

Dacic added that Pristina's announcements of the initiative to form such a tribunal is viewed in light of the attempts to find a balance with the work of a specialist court dealing with the KLA crimes.

The KLA is a former armed formation of ethnic Albanians in Kosovo, considered by Serbia to be a terrorist organization.

EU Spokesperson Maja Kocijancic, said, in relation to the interrogation of the first witnesses in the Special Court for the war crimes in The Hague, that the court “does its job” adding the EU is clear when it comes to the reconciliation in the region and the war crimes issue.

“It is not up to me to comment on the work of the court. The court does its job. In a wider context when it comes to the EU relations with the region, reconciliation is one of the crucial principles,” Kocijancic noted.
