Popovic-Ivkovic with representatives of Libya on Kosovo and Interpol (Kontakt plus radio)

Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs State Secretary Biljana Popovic-Ivkovic met with the representatives of the Embassy of Libya yesterday and presented Serbia’s arguments against consideration of the latest Pristina request to join Interpol, Radio kontakt plus reports. Popovic-Ivkovic noted that the latest Kosovo application represents violation of the Interpol decision of the last year, when Pristina request was rejected. She also noted that only UN member and observer states can be members of Interpol, as well as that eventual admission of Kosovo to Interpol would be in contradiction with the rules of this police organization. The representatives of the Embassy of Libya said they would inform the Government in Tripoli about Serbia’s arguments.
