Office head: Serbs to "cross out" Kosovo "drawing" (B92)

BELGRADE -- Elections in Kosovo are "a job of national importance for Serbia and an important form of political struggle," says Office for Kosovo Director Marko Đurić.

He told B92 TV on Friday that it was "extremely important that Serb representatives win as many seats" in the Kosovo assembly - "so that the state has a lever of influence and pressure" when Kosovo talks resume in Brussels.

Djuric discussess Kosovo situation with Belgian delegation (RTS, Tanjug)

BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Marko Djuric has discussed the situation in the Serbian province with a delegation of the Belgian foreign ministry.

The Belgian delegation visiting Serbia is headed by Jean-Arthur Regibeau, Director General at the ministry's Directorate for Multilateral Affairs and Globalisation, and Thursday's discussions were also attended by Belgian Ambassador to Serbia Leo D'aes.

Participation in the elections a continuation of political fight (RTS)

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric told RTS that by casting a ballot, Serbs continue political struggle which should allow the creation of the Association of Serbian municipalities. This is not an election; this is a mission, says Ljubomir Maric, coordinator of the management team for establishment of the ZSO (Community of Serbian municipalities).

Marko Djuric said that only those who promote the independence of Kosovo do not want the Serbs to vote in the elections.

Djuric, Davenport discuss elections in Kosovo-Metohija (Tanjug)

BELGRADE - Marko Djuric, director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija, met on Thursday with Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Ambassador Michael Davenport to discuss the situation in Kosovo-Metohija (KiM).

Djuric and Davenport discussed the continuation of the Brussels dialogue (on the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina) and Serbia's further progress on the EU integration pathway.

Serbs waiting for instructions from Belgrade (Koha Ditore)

The paper reports in a front-page story that the Serb minority in Kosovo is waiting for instructions from Belgrade before they decide whether or not to participate in Kosovo’s parliamentary elections on 8 June. Despite highlighting the importance of elections, senior Serbian officials have yet to call on Kosovo Serbs to take part in them.
