Serbian FM speaks at UNHCR Executive Committee meeting (B92, Beta, Srbija.gov.rs)

First Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic took part on Monday in the 69th session of the Executive Committee of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Dacic underlined Serbia "strong support to the untiring work of the UNHCR" and said the international community must "redouble its efforts to promote human rights and demonstrate solidarity without prejudice and selectivity, with the aim of harmonizing different views and addressing the causes and effects of the (migrant) crisis."

There is absolutely no alternative to working together, First Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has told the OSCE Mediterranean Conference, Tanjug agency reported.

The current refugee and migrant situation calls for unabated attention, efficiency and, above all, solidarity of all relevant actors, Dacic said as he addressed the gathering in Palermo, Italy.

Migrants to use a new route - through Kosovo (Vesti)

If the situation deteriorates in Syria, Afghanistan, and if Turkey decides, depending on the outcome of negotiations with the European Union, to direct refugees to Europe, which are stationed in this country, in late October, Serbia could face a new big wave of migrants that would arrive through so far little used route - through Kosovo.

Serbs who fled in 1999 were deported to Kosovo (Politika)  

During the last month, 423 citizens who didn’t have a right to asylum in Germany were deported to Serbia. The number of the people encompassed by the agreement on readmission is not increased as compared to the recent years, said Ivan Gerginov, Serbian Deputy Commissioner for refugees and migration.
