Recica: Demarcation must be brought to the Assembly (Epoka)

Elmi Recica, chairman of the Kosovo Assembly foreign affairs committee, told the paper that the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro should be brought to the Assembly “to see if there are 2/3 of votes to ratify the agreement”. Recica called on the opposition parties not to allow internal politics to reflect on Kosovo’s engagement for its European agenda. Commenting on recent developments in relations between Kosovo and Serbia, Recica argued that Serbia has plans to destabilise the region.

MPs not aware of entire Ibar Bridge revitalization project (Koha)

The Kosovo Assembly Foreign Affairs Committee discussed today the recently-built wall near the main bridge over the Iber River. The head of the committee, Elmi Recica, said the entire project for the revitalization of the bridge was not made public. According to him, the MPs did not have knowledge of the entire project. Zafir Berisha from the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) said the wall initiative is a continuation of Serbia’s projects for Kosovo's partition.

Parliamentary committee condemns KP director’s arrest as unacceptable and arbitrary (media)

Kosovo Assembly’s foreign affairs committee is expected to come out with a joint statement condemning the arrest of the Kosovo Police director for Mitrovica region, Nehat Thaçi, by Serbian authorities. Committee’s chairman, Elmi Reçica, said Thaçi’s arrest was unacceptable while head of the Alliance for Future of Kosovo (AAK) parliamentary group, Pal Lekaj, said the arrest does not contribute to normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
