“Demarcation with Serbia in four years” (BETA, KIM Radio)

Kosovo MP, Ilir Deda said they have received a message from EU officials that demarcation with Serbia should be completed in four years, KIM Radio reported.

“Demarcation as a term won’t be missed. Within 4-year timeframe we should complete demarcation of border with Serbia,” Deda told Pristina-based TV KTV. He also added, the EU expects this process to finalize by 2021 “by mutual dialogue or arbitration court,” KIM Radio reported.

Deda: We will not vote Veseli and Haradinaj (Lajmi)

LAA coalition appears to be determined not to vote the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Kadri Veseli for the President of the Assembly of Kosovo, and neither the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, for the position of the Prime Minister of Kosovo. This was reiterated today by LAA MP, Ilir Deda. “We will not give votes to Veseli for Assembly President or to Haradinaj for Prime Minister. Deda: Thaci cannot decide on his own about dialogue with Serbia (Bota Sot)

Co-founder of Alternativa, Ilir Deda, said the dialogue for normalization of relations with Serbia is a national issue which requires a broad consensus between political parties. In a Facebook post, Deda said that before agreeing to anything in the framework of the EU-facilitated dialogue, President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci would have to get the approval of political parties. “Kosovo’s state interest should be built only through broad consensus of political parties. It cannot be built by any institutional leader on their own”, Deda wrote.

Mimoza Kusari-Lila, Mayor of Gjakova/Djakovica and leader of Alternativa which ran under a coalition with the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR), thanked the people of Kosovo for democratic elections and assured her voters that their will would be respected. She said Alternativa would remain in the pre-election coalition with LDK and AKR and is not considering cooperating with any other coalition.

Deda: Kosovo to respond to Belgrade’s threat by creating the army (Lajmi)

Kosovo Assembly independent MP, Ilir Deda, considers that strengthening the Kosovo Security Force into army of Kosovo should be the response to the threat of the Serbian President. “Strengthening the KSF into the Army of Kosovo should be the response of Kosovo toward Belgrade’s threat, where the President of Serbia states that “what I said about sending the army, derives from the conclusions of the Council for National Security,” Dedaj wrote on his Facebook page.

Kosovo Assembly independent MP, Ilir Deda joined the request of his colleagues for an international investigation of Astrit Dehari’s case. Deda said that it is tragic for a political activist to die in hands of the state, be it a murder or a suicide. He said that heads of the institutions should be punished, by resignation. The normal request in an abnormal situation is international involvement on Dehari’s case. “The responsibility of the heads of the institutions is resignation,” Dedaj repeated.

Mimoza Kusari-Lila: New party won’t be a satellite of the big parties (Indeksonline)

Mimoza Kusari-Lila, mayor of the Gjakova municipality, in an interview for the news website, denied rumours that the new political party, which is expected to be formed this month, will serve as a satellite for the bigger political parties in Kosovo. Kusari-Lila said the new party will be a model for the bigger parties. “Personally I could have joined any of the current parties but I have seen that a new alternative is needed to advance democracy and well-being in Kosovo. By no means will we serve as a satellite for someone else,” she said.
