Limaj: The wall in the north, product of the dialogue (Zeri)

Fatmir Limaj, leader of the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), said today that the wall in northern Mitrovica derives from the agreement signed between Kosovo and Serbia on April 2011. He said that discussions in Brussels caused not only the wall but many other problems. “Not only the wall, but everything that derived, including the association, derive from the April agreement.” Limaj said.

Mitrovica urgent meeting cut short after opposition walkout (media)

Kosovapress reported that officials from opposition parties in the municipal assembly of Mitrovica – the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) – walked out of the urgent meeting called to discuss the construction of the wall by Serbian leadership in Mitrovica North. The meeting was expected to result in a joint statement condemning the construction of the wall but the PDK and LDK representatives left the meeting after accusing Mitrovica Mayor Agim Bahtiri of not allowing a debate.

Mustafa: Wall in the north to be removed (Klan Kosova)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said today in a visit to Gjilan/Gnjilane that the wall constructed by Mitrovica North authorities is outside the framework of the Brussels agreement on revitalization of Iber River bridge. According to Mustafa, the wall will be removed. Mustafa also spoke about his recent meeting with Montenegrin Prime Minister, Dusko Markovic, which he said took place in a friendly atmosphere.

MPs not aware of entire Ibar Bridge revitalization project (Koha)

The Kosovo Assembly Foreign Affairs Committee discussed today the recently-built wall near the main bridge over the Iber River. The head of the committee, Elmi Recica, said the entire project for the revitalization of the bridge was not made public. According to him, the MPs did not have knowledge of the entire project. Zafir Berisha from the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) said the wall initiative is a continuation of Serbia’s projects for Kosovo's partition.
