Serbian President receives Russian Ambassador (Tanjug, RTS, B92)

President Aleksandar Vucic believes Vladimir Putin's visit to Serbia will be the most fruitful to date in terms of the number and content of agreement which he will sign.

Vucic also thanked the Russian Federation and its president for the support they give to the territorial integrity of Serbia and its efforts to find a compromise solution for Kosovo and Metohija.

Vucic’s meeting with German Chancellor, Angela Merkel would take place, as per her requests, on Sunday morning, before the official ceremony. According to the daily, the two officials would discuss the situation in the region, economy and the special focus would be made on Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in Helsinki he is hurt with “bad meddling” of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC) in the politics, BETA news agency reported.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday the European Union should secure the implementation of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) making Pristina revoke its decision to increase import taxes for goods from Serbia and Bosnia, Beta news agency reports.

Speaking to reporters in Helsinki at the sidelines of the European Peoples’ Parties (EPP) Congress he said the forthcoming meeting with his Kosovo counterpart Hashim Thaci in Brussels would be awkward, since Belgrade expected the EU to stop Pristina's violation of the CEFTA provisions.

Vucic: Merkel requests meeting (Tanjug, B92)

Aleksandar Vucic said in Helsinki that he received from the cabinet of German Chancellor Angela Merkel a request for a bilateral meeting in Paris on Sunday.

"We received from the Office of the Chancellor that Merkel wants a bilateral meeting with me on Sunday morning. That speaks about the importance and the place of Serbia. People need to be proud and satisfied," the president said in a statement to the press.

He said he always wants to see Merkel and added that he believes that Europe will lose much when she leaves.
