Letter to Scott and Mogherini: Why there are no Albanians in Brussels who did not commit crimes? (Blic)

The Association of Families Kidnapped and Killed in Kosovo and Metohija today, in a letter to US Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott and EU High Representative Federika Mogherini, questions why there are no Albanians who did not commit crimes in the negotiations in Brussels, reports Belgrade based daily Blic.

"Can honest Albanians, who did not commit crimes and whose hands are not bloodied, go to Brussels to the negotiations? Only with them an agreement and reconciliation would be possible," the letter reads.

In the period from 11 to 22 July 1998, more than 100 Serbs and Roma, mostly civilians were kidnapped in Orahovac municipality and taken to the KLA prison camps, while seven persons were murdered during the attack. The entire Serb population was expelled from the villages of Retimlje, Opterusa, and Zociste, the Association of Families of Kidnapped and Missing Persons in Kosovo said in a press statement.

Association of Families of Missing and Kidnapped Persons from Kosovo marked in Belgrade, on Saturday 20 years since the first kidnappings and murders took place in Kosovo and Metohija, Serbian media reported.

The ceremony started at 12.44 and members of the families requested the justice for their beloved ones again, Serbian media reported.

According to the Association, 2.500 Serbs and other non-Albanians were killed in Kosovo over the last two decades, Serbian media reported.

Association of Families of Kidnapped and Murdered Persons in Kosovo requested from KFOR and EULEX to enable them security during “March of Truth and Justice” from Merdare crossing point to the “Yellow house” in Albania, where kidnapped Serbs from Kosovo were murdered, Serbian media reported.

Its press statement further said this was relation where their beloved once were kidnapped, torched and murdered, and the aim of the march is to point out impunity of crimes committed against Serbs.

The Association of Families of the Kidnapped and Murdered Persons in Kosovo stated it accepts the invitation of the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on dialogue on Kosovo, but first it is necessary to identify the causes and consequences of the current situation, their press release reads.

It further said, they would seek from the President Vucic to assess the responsibility of those who brought Serbia to the situation to beg the EU, USA and Turkey to prevent creation of a “Greater Albania” and to be happy with Kosovo as such.
