Dikovic with COM KFOR on situation in Kosovo (RTS)

Serbian Army Chief of Staff, General Ljubisa Dikovic met in Nis with COM KFOR, Major General, Salvatore Cuoci and discussed cooperation between the Army of Serbia and KFOR, current security situation in Kosovo as well as along administrative line, RTS reported.

General Dikovic emphasized that the presence of the international forces in Kosovo represents an important factor for the general security and stability there, adding that the Serbian Army places a significant importance to the cooperation with KFOR.

Serbia's military stages training drill, days after incident in Kosovo (Reuters)

PASULJANSKE LIVADE, Serbia (Reuters) - Under the keen eye of President Aleksandar Vucic and foreign diplomats, Serbia’s military flexed its muscles on Thursday, firing live ordnance in a mock attack on insurgent positions at a training ground east of Belgrade.

The training drill, dubbed Synergy 2018, came three days after Kosovo police used force to scatter Serb protesters in the town of Kosovska Mitrovica in Kosovo’s restive North and briefly detained a Serbian government official.

Dikovic: Unresolved Kosovo knot biggest threat to Serbia (Novosti)

General Ljubisa Dikovic, Serbian Army Chief of Staff said that the highest security threat to Serbia is the unresolved status of Kosovo and its unilateral declared independence, Novosti daily reported.

Dikovic further said that the Army of Serbia is fully ready to protect the citizens from all threats and danger. Terrorism is the world enemy number one, and is equally threatening to Serbia.

First joint drill with NATO to be held on Serbian soil (Radio Free Europe, Tanjug, B92)

Radio Free Europe (RSE) reported that the first joint military drill with NATO member-states is planned to be held in Serbia in October 2018.

According to the media this exercise would represent a political move forward in Serbia's cooperation with NATO.

RSE also said that after 20 military drills where Serbia took part mainly as an observer under the Partnership for Peace program, the REGEX18 exercise will be held in its territory for the first time.
