Thaci welcomes Merkel's borders remark; Dacic: What borders? (B92, Beta, Tanjug)

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has welcomed German Chancellor Angela Merkel saying she was "against any changes of borders in the Balkans."

"All there is to be done is for the majority of the European Union to convince its five members that haven't yet recognized Kosovo and Serbia, too, to recognize it within the existing borders. The sooner that is done, the better for the region," Thaci tweeted, Beta agency reported.

Serbian List deputy Igor Simic said that the idea of delimitation with Albanians in basics intends to prevent any future ethnic cleansing, adding that everyone is clear who is concerned sincerely about the future of Serbs in Kosovo, Serbian media reported.

Simic this way responded to Abbott Sava Janjic's FB post, who estimated that the delimitation would lead to ethnic cleansing, as a legitimate solution.

Sava Janjic: Delimitation would be ethnic cleansing (FoNet, Danas, RTK2)

Abbot Sava Janjic wrote on his Facebook account that by accepting the agreement on the delimitation of Serbs and Albanians, Europe would accept the idea of ethnic cleansing as a legitimate solution.

"Acceptance of ethnic partition between Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo by territorial division and forcing 70.000 Serbs south of the partition line to an imminent exodus and leaving their holy sites in peril would mean that EU accepts the idea of an agreed ethnic cleansing as a legitimate solution.

Dacic: Russia would support delimitation with Kosovo, if it is our official stance (Tanjug, Dnevnik)

Russia would support the idea on delimitation with Kosovo if it becomes an official stance of Serbia, said the leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and Serbian Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic, adding he is exposed to constant attacks ever since he mentioned division of Kosovo, Serbian media reported.

“They call me a traitor, and I have not heard anyone else proposing any other solution,” Dacic said. He further went on saying that great world powers would support the proposition if it becomes an official stance of Serbia.
