Kosovo institutions and society to react on the language of hatred (RTK2)

Kosovo prosecutor investigates president's ally for political favoritism (Reuters)

PRISTINA (Reuters) - An ally of Kosovo's president is under investigation for allegedly granting jobs at state institutions and companies to people based on their political affiliation, Kosovo's prosecutor said on Friday.

The investigation of Adem Grabovci is based on evidence from phone taps made in 2011 during an anti-corruption operation by the European Union police and justice mission, known as EULEX.

Leaked telephone conversations between ruling party MP Adem Grabovci and various officials suggest that Grabovci has been influencing employment processes in the Kosovo police through the general director of the force, Shpend Maxhuni.
In wiretaps released on Tuesday, Grabovci is heard talking with a man called Gani Nikci about an interview Nikci has for a job with the Kosovo police.
“I believe that it is a done deal, I've been told that, because I talked directly with Shpend,” Grabovci is heard saying.

On the accusations of hiring people affiliated to the PDK through irregular procedures, Grabovci said it is not a crime to provide work opportunities. “I stand ready to answer to justice. I respect my country, I respect the laws and I have never tried to get above it. I am aware of my responsibilities and if opening jobs is a crime, then I am ready to answer,” said Grabovci.

Tapped conversations show Kosovo is controlled by the underground (Insajderi)

The investigative website Insajderi claims to possess more than a thousand telephone conversations of Adem Grabovci, head of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) parliamentary group, recorded in 2011 which reportedly show him as the person in charge of party’s illegal activities. According to Insajderi, Grabovci’s phone was tapped by EULEX as part of investigations into his activity while deputy minister of transport.

Grabovci: Government should not delay demarcation issue (Gazeta Blic)

The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) parliamentary group chief, Adem Grabovci, told the news site his party has not yet decided whether it will vote in favor of the border-demarcation agreement with Montenegro. However, Grabovci called on the government to send the agreement to the Kosovo Assembly as soon as possible. “The government should not delay the demarcation issue and the MPs should be well informed on this issue before being put to a vote,” he said.

Grabovci: Veseli was not nominated for PDK leader (Zeri)

The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) parliamentary group chief, Adem Grabovci, today denied the rumors that Assembly President Kadri Veseli was nominated to be PDK’s leader after Hashim Thaci’s candidacy for Kosovo President. "We are currently analyzing the situation. It is true that we have had meetings but is absolutely not true what media reported on Veseli’s nomination,” Grabovci said.

The opposition is not concerned with the content of the agreement because they understand that this is an international agreement. The opposition wants to take over the government.
