Family of the murdered Oliver Ivanovic against use of his name in elections

Oliver Ivanovic's nephew said on Thursday the family told the Election Commission in Pristina they were against the usage of the late leader’s name on any election ticket, regional broadcaster N1 reported.

Aleksandar Ivanovic tweeted that his family obligation was “to protect the principles and values Oliver stood for and fought for and which for he paid an ultimate price.”

The Progressive Democratic Party was formed in 2013 at the founding assembly in Gracanica after its leader, Nenad Rasic left the SLS due to difference of opinion. Since then, the party has participated in Kosovo parliamentary elections, as well as local elections, in 2014 and 2017.

President of PDS Nenad Rasic: ''Freedom'' of usurped people (KIM radio)

President of Progressive Democratic Party (PDS) Nenad Rasic formed a coalition Freedom (Sloboda), KIM radio reports.

According to Rasic, the coalition is made of Serbian representatives.

''Freedom of expression, freedom from corruption, freedom of the usurped Kosovo people is the meaning of the coalition in the true sense of the word,'' Rasic said.

Rasic: There is hope for us (KIM Radio)

“I think we have managed to get to the people and convince them there is a hope for us, there is a perspective to remain here, because these people are the most important,” said Nenad Rasic, leader of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDS), KIM Radio reported.

The PDS would conclude its election campaign today. The party did not have a candidate for a mayor in Gracanica, but only for the municipal assembly. The campaign was led calmly and with direct talks to the citizens.
