Terrible things happen in election campaign (N1)

The owner of Mir (Peace) TV from northernmost Leposavic town in Kosovo Nenad Radosavljevic said that during the campaign ahead of the October 6 elections “really terrible things happen,” mentioning the case of a doctor who was fired after 36 years of work assumingly for participating at an opposition gathering,” N1 reported on Monday.

Radosavljevic added that there were "lots of such cases.”

Leposavic based TV Mir editor told regional broadcaster N1 ''the Serbian List already begun to exert pressures and blackmail citizens in northern Kosovo''.

Chairman of the Main Board of the Forum for Ethnic Relations Dusan Janjic said that the Serbian List will barely win eight seats in this election, adding that the idea was to silence every other voice in Kosovo.

Owner claims that the Kosovo police impounded truck in the territory of Serbia (RTV Mir, Kossev)

Kosovo police violated the agreement on the movement in the boundary zone and illegally entered the territory of Central Serbia from where they impounded a truck with goods, claims the owner of that truck, S.D. Radio Television Mir (RTV Mir) reported on educational workshops within the project "NO means NO"  that were held in the premises of Leposavic municipality, where the methods of self-defense and the help of psychologists were presented, as a part of the ways of how Kosovo youth fights to reduce the number of cases of violence.

RTV Mir in Leposavic Director, Nenad Radosavljevic, speaking for “Slobodno sprski” talk show said that responsible bodies in Pristina cannot shed the light on the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, since they lack capacities and experience while Belgrade “simply does not want to do so,” Radio KIM reported. Radosavljevic added Pristina does not have a real power in the north of Kosovo, and it is in Belgrade’s hands. He said local authorities in the north were elected based on Kosovo laws, but these authorities always listen to Belgrade.

MP in the Serbian Parliament Slavisa Ristic from Zubin Potok today was unanimously elected President of the People's Movement of Serbs from Kosovo "Fatherland", report Serbian media based in Kosovo.

More than 70 delegates from the entire territory of Kosovo attended the election assembly.  As vice presidents are elected Dr. Nenad Kojic from Vitina and engineer Nebojsa Radulovic from Leposavic.

The role of doctors in identifying and recording violence against women is very important (RTV Mir)

Doctors have not only a moral but also a legal obligation to report and record gender-based violence, reports RTV Mir.

This is regulated by the special protocol of the Ministry of Health, which came into force last year in order to strengthen health centers in providing support to survivors of violence.

The United Nations Population Fund organized last year training for doctors of health centers in four municipalities in northern Kosovo, reports RTV Mir.

Kosovo is the most polluted place in Europe, citizens are not sufficiently aware of the importance of preserving the environment, and this issue is not a priority for the institutions, it was concluded at the debate on the topic "Environment in Kosovo", organized by Media Center Caglavica with the support of UNMIK, within the framework of the "Kosovo Today" project.

At the debate, it was also pointed out that about a thousand people per year die from environmental pollution in Kosovo.
