Vucic: ''Do you think that the KiM issue can be resolved without great powers?" (Serbian media)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic says that Serbia is working on continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina in the same format, under the auspices of the EU, but this problem cannot be solved without great powers, reports Belgrade based daily Blic.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received today Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia, Alexander Chepurin and discussed further cooperation between the two countries, the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Serbian media reported.

President Vucic voiced great concern over frequent attacks against the Serbs in Kosovo, pointing out to the need to reach a true compromise and not a solution that would imply only pressure on Serbia.

“Following certain media speculations, it remains that one should only advise them to carefully read our statements, and not to deal with empty fabrications with a single desire: to deprive Serbia of Russia’s support. It’s typical fishing in muddy water.”

This is how Russian Ambassador to Serbia, Alexander Chepurin commented on last week’s media reports on the alleged Russian support for the partition of Kosovo, KoSSev portal reported referring to statements Ambassador Chepurin made to Sputnik.

According to the Belgrade-based media outlet Alo, Ambassador of Russian Federation to Serbia, Alexander Chepurin said Russia would accept the division of Kosovo and Metohija, if Serbia considers it would be the best solution, Tanjug and RTV reported.

Ambassador Chepurin made these remarks commenting Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic statement that “Albanians would agree to division of Kosovo, and that it is in their interest.”
