Round-table organized by LAA, concludes (RTK)

The round-table called for today by the LAA coalition, on constitution of Kosovo institutions has concluded. Driton Selmanaj, Kosovo Assembly MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), said that the conclusions of the round-table are that the PAN coalition has blocked creation of the institutions, using its right to create the institutions, and that lack of creation of institutions has major economic consequences.

Participants also discussed the possibility of addressing the Constitutional Court on the matter of the proposal of the candidate for Assembly President.

Kosovo and FYROM sign agreement on border point in Stancic (RTK)

Kosovo and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia signed today protocol for creation of a new border point in Stancic.

Kosovo’s Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs, Emanuel Demaj, said that this agreement is very important as it enables free movement of the people from both sides. “Kosovo has fulfilled all its obligations with regards to the opening of the border point,” Demaj said.

UN to hold session on Kosovo (RTK)

The UN Security Council will hold today a session to discuss the security situation in Kosovo, from 16 April to 15 July.

The Egyptian permanent representative will be chairing the session. In his most recent report, the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, assessed that the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade is facing difficulties, noting that expected, sufficient achievements are not met yet, including here creation of the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities.

Assembly session to resume on 24 August (RTK)

The Chairman of the consultative meeting of Kosovo political parties, Adem Mikullovci, announced that he will call resumption of the Kosovo Assembly session for 24 August, as proposed by the PAN coalition.

Vetevendosje movement did not participate at the meeting, while all the other political parties agreed with the PAN’s proposal to hold the session on 24 August.

The PAN representative, Enver Hoxhaj, requested for the session to be held on the date and also stressed that sessions should not be called unilaterally without a joint agreement.

Vetevendosje will not participate at consultative meeting (RTK)

Vetevendosje movement MP, Driton Caushi, said after the interruption of the constitutive session of the Assembly of Kosovo that his party will not attend the consultative meeting with PAN coalition, called by the chairman of the session, Adem Mikullovci.

He however stressed that they would consider Avdullah Hoti’s request for a roundtable where the possibilities to address the Constitutional Court would be considered.

LDK proposes a round-table to address the Constitutional Court (RTK)

Head of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Avdullah Hoti, proposed today a round-table of the political parties to discuss the manner of addressing the Constitutional Court, with regards to the unblocking of the works of the Assembly. “It is well known that PAN is the blocker. I hail the statement of the ambassadors. This situation cannot go on, and we are considering constitutional steps and working on clarification of the judicial ground. We will call a round-table to discuss and address the Constitutional Court,” Hoti said.

Hoxhaj tells PAN’s condition for participation at the session (RTK)

Deputy leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Enver Hoxhaj, said today that the Pan coalition would not participate at the Assembly’s constitutive session, no matter the date set, however, they would only participate if the session was held based on their conditions, presented to the political parties yesterday, during the meeting of the heads of parliamentary groups. “Our position has not changed. We do not participate at the sessions called without prior consulting with the political parties, these actions are biased,” Hoxhaj said.
