Opposition and civil society: Kosovo is being destroyed (Kosovapress)

Vetevendosje movement considers that the agreement signed by the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, gives Serbia full rights to control municipalities with Serb majority, and leads Kosovo towards its federalization. They also consider that this agreement will make Kosovo dysfunctional and a great part of the territory will be managed by Serbian state. Also, according to them, Kosovo will lose many natural resources, which will make its economic development impossible.

Haradinaj: Kosovo should hold national elections this year (RTK/Epoka)

Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), said in an interview with Epoka e Re that Kosovo should go to early national elections in October this year “in order to save itself from the bad governance of [Prime Minister] Isa Mustafa”. Haradinaj did not rule out the possibility of the AAK, Initiative for Kosovo and the Vetevendosje Movement, running with a joint list in the event of early elections. The AAK leader also said that the special court is an unnecessary experiment and that it benefits only Prime Minister Mustafa.

AAK proposes resolution on genocide in Kosovo (Kosovapress)

The head of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) parliamentary group, Donika Kadaj - Bujupi, today proposed a resolution on the genocide in Kosovo during the 1999 conflict. This proposal was made during the meeting of the Presidency of the Assembly and has received support from other parliamentary groups. Kadaj - Bujupi is demanding that this resolution be the first point of the agenda on the next session of the Assembly.

Opposition parties planning to block vote on special court (Lajmi)

The news site reports that the opposition parties, with the initiative of the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) are planning to block the work of the Kosovo Assembly in the session when they are expected to vote for the constitutional amendments that enable the establishment of the special court. "The goal is that the opposition MPs to physically block the entrance of the hall where the session is expected to take place, and not allow the MPs to enter the session,” said a senior official of one of the opposition parties who preferred to remain anonymous.

Opposition requests early elections (Koha)

The representatives of the three opposition parties, Vetevendosje, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), have requested early parliamentary elections. The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosvo, Ramush Haradinaj, head of the NISMA’s parliamentary group Valdete Bajrami and Vetevendosje activist, Frasher Krasniqi, assessed that the only solution to save Kosovo from the current coalition between the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), is holding of early elections.

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), has elected today its new leadership. The steering council of this party elected Ardian Gjini for the Principal Deputy Leader of the party, while Ahmet Isufi, Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, Pal Lekaj and Gazmend Abrashi, have been elected for deputies.

Blerim Kuci is the general secretary of the party while Ali Berisha is the organizational secretary. Analyst Muharrem Nitaj has joined this party, and he was elected as member of the leadership of the party.

Ramush Haradinaj leaves the meeting (gazetatribuna)

The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, has left the meeting of the Assembly Commission for Foreign Affairs. He called the head of the commission for demarcation of the border with Montenegro, Murat Meha, “a liar.”

Haradinaj threw a map that he had with him and said that this commission is working for Montenegrins. He also said that members of the commission are “corrupted and ignorant.”

AAK: Assembly should establish Armed Forces as soon as possible (Gazeta Express)

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) issued a communiqué today calling on the Kosovo Assembly to establish the Kosovo Armed Forces as soon as possible. The AAK said that Prime Minister Isa Mustafa and Kosovo Security Force Minister Haki Demolli should provide direct explanations as to why they are not submitting the draft law on the Armed Forces to the Assembly. The AAK communiqué also argued that the Kosovo government led by Prime Minister Mustafa and his deputy Hashim Thaci is ignoring the key sector of security and defence.

Opposition representatives walk out of Assembly Presidency meeting (Lajmi)

The representatives of opposition parties have walked out of the meeting of the Kosovo Assembly Presidency when Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli opened the topic of the special court. Vetevendosje’s Glauk Konjufca, who is a member of the Assembly Presidency, told reporters that they walked out of the meeting because of discussions on the constitutional amendments that make way to the establishment of the special court. Konjufca said that Speaker Veseli asked the presidency that the special court should be discussed at a plenary session on Friday.

Slovenian court gives Haradinaj his passport back, return to Kosovo expected (Koha)

Citing unidentified sources, the news site reports that Ramush Haradinaj, the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), is getting back his passport after it was confiscated by Slovenian authorities when they detained him in Ljubljana airport on June 17. The Basic Court of Kranj, which was handling Haradinaj’s case, decided to return him the passport.
