Women in Kosovo are being discriminated in many fields (RTK)

Kosovo Women’s Network will be launching today the report “Kosovo’s progress on approximating its laws on gender equality with the EU ones.”

Gresa Rrahmani, from Kosovo Women’s Network, said that the intention of this document is to see how much Kosovo’s legislation has approximated the EU one, when gender equality is concerned.

"This document has identified where the shortcomings are, and the recommendations can be given," she said today in the morning show "Good morning Kosovo" on RTK.

Kosovo Women's Network publishes new report on domestic violence (Bota Sot)

Kosovo Women's Network (KWN) today published new report on domestic violence entitled “An analysis of attitudes, frequency and institutional response to domestic violence in Kosovo.” The KWN research aims to provide accurate information and recommendations based on the data, which will then provide data for the National Strategy and Action Plan against Domestic Violence (to be published in 2016).

Women write to Meucci: EULEX retraumatized residents of Krusha e Vogel (Koha)

Kosovo Women’s Network (KWN) has written an open letter to head of EULEX Gabriele Meucci expressing deep concern over, as it said, the mistreatment of the citizens of Krusha e Vogel, primarily women, by EULEX in exhuming several bodies from the village cemetery. KWN reminded EULEX that the women of Krusha e Vogel have been deeply affected by the war as on 26 March 1999, 113 men and boys disappeared or were killed by Serbian forces. To date, only 45 have been found and buried and the village still awaits learning about the fate of 68 others.

Kosova Women’s Network to join protest against Jablanovic (Telegrafi)

The Kosova Women’s Network (KWN) said today it supports the “Cries of Mothers” Association and that it will join the national protest on Saturday in front of the National Library in Pristina. “For 16 years now, the ‘Cries of Mothers’ Association has called for the fate of missing persons to be resolved. The hate speech used by Aleksandar Jablanovic and his position not to recognize the Republic of Kosovo as an independent state, has caused great concern with the KWN and all the people of Kosovo.
