Kosovo Assembly deputy from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Latif Gashi, who was sentenced a few days ago by the Appellate Court with six years of prison, addressed today the Assembly Chairmanship with a letter, where he informs his resignation from the position of Kosovo Assembly deputy.

Kosovo Police has informed through a press release to have found two hand grenades and 15 bullets at the Eye Clinic of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo. It also confirmed that exploding devices are removed from the clinic in a controlled manner, in order to return the situation at UCCK to normality. The police received the information for the presence of these devises at 10:30 and immediately undertook all the required measures, including evacuation of the Eye Clinic staff. Specialized units found these devises at the ceiling of the building.

Veton Surroi criticizes the coalition government parties, for the approach towards the created situation in Kosovo. He considers that the case of deputy Donika Kadaj-Bujupi and demolition of the door of Albin Kurti’s apartment are a dead–end road in spiral of violence. Response by throwing stones, confrontation with the police and destruction of public and private property by a significant number of protesters from the opposition, is another sign of this dead-end way.

Representatives of the Judicial council, prosecution and defense of the accused Oliver Ivanovic, and four other Serbs, will visit on Monday locations in northern and southern part of Mitrovica, where Albanians were killed in 1999 and 2000.

The lawyer of Oliver Ivanovic and Nebojsha Vllajic, said for Kosovapress that representatives of the court will go today to identify the precise locations where according to the witnesses, ten Albanians were killed in February 2000.

According to the writer of this opinion piece, Faik Krasniqi, the international community is in a way testing the justice in Kosovo to understand if they are ready and brave to face crimes of different natures committed political and parapolitical “big fish” after the war in Kosovo. However, it is difficult to believe that Kosovo judges and prosecutors would be courageous to face the big fishes of political and business mafia.

The two laws related to the special court, approved on the day of constitutional amendments by the Assembly of Kosovo through an accelerated procedure, have not been submitted to the President of Kosovo for the decree, even nine days after being voted.

The Assembly of Kosovo has endorsed today with majority of votes, Vetevendosje’s Resolution for EULEX mission in Kosovo, debated on Wednesday. From the 63 deputies present at this session, 23 of them voted for, 23 abstained while 17 were against. The content of the Resolution is below.
