Apostolova and Delawie appeal for changes on the justice system (lajmi.net)

Head of the  EU Office to Kosovo Naliya Apostolova, said Kosovo should consider  review of the Justice Sector a priority, to proceed further with the agenda of European reforms, amendment of the criminal code, code for criminal procedure. Law on prevention of conflict of interest as well as concept document for suspension of senior officials who are indicted.

Apostolova said that it is time to do something on this direction and that she considers endorsement of this concept document to be special.

Pacolli: Guinea Bissau has not withdrawn recognition (lajmi.net)

Kosovo’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Behgjet Pacolli said today at Forum 2015 which discussed specter of EU policies towards Kosovo, that the African state, Guinea Bissau has not withdrawn recognition of Kosovo. “Recognition by Guinea Bissau is not withdrawn. Kosovo was recognized through a verbal note in 2010, by the President who does not live anymore,” Pacolli said. He added that in January of the next year, Kosovo will establish diplomatic relations with this country. “We have visited the President of Guinea Bissau yesterday,” Pacolli said.

Government of Kosovo expects from Serbia to pay electricity debt of the North (RFE, Lajmi.net)

 The government of Kosovo, claims that it will request during the next negotiations between Pristina and Belgrade in Brussels, compensation for the power bills not paid by Serb population in four northern municipalities of Kosovo.

This announcement came after publication of facts that the population of northern Kosovo, respectively consumers of Leposavic, Mitrovica North, Zubin Potok and Zvecan, have not paid their electricity bills and that these debts were billed to the rest of the population of Kosovo.

Hoxha: Kosovo to request from EU concrete integration plan (Lajmi.net)

During the today’s meeting of the government, Kosovo’s Minister for European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha spoke about the European agenda for 2018.

“As far as the future steps are concerned, the government will open next week in Brussels a new discourse on reforms, where we will request Kosovo’s advancement on integration process,” Hoxha said.

Haradinaj, Thaci request international investigation on Kumanovo case (Lajmi.net)

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, said an international investigation would help enlighten Kumanovo case. “We have followed carefully and with increased attention the process after the tragic events in Kumanovo, in May 2015 as well as the announced verdicts from the Skopje Court. Justice should be put on place, starting from complete enlightening of the event with all its dimensions. An international investigation would help on complete enlightment of the truth, for which we all try so hard,” Haradinaj said.

Kosovo’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, has organized a round table on “Combating violent extremism and radicalism which lead to terrorism.”

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj who is participating at this round table said combating violent extremism is priority of the government.

“We should be determined on preventing any spreading that leads to terrorism. Kosovo needs a serious plan to treat those who were involved in these activities in order to be safe,” Haradinaj said.

EULEX deputy chief: Decree of Serb judges and prosecutors, a historic day for Kosovo (Lajmi)

Deputy chief of the EULEX mission in Kosovo, Bernd Thran, said today that decree of Serb judges and prosecutors represents a historic day for Kosovo. Thran held today a lecture in front of the students of ISPE College entitled “ EULEX’s role on implementation of the rule of law.”

”Today, President Hashim Thaci decreed judges and prosecutors who come from the northern part and this is a historic day. We are very proud to see what has happened, but what remains for us to see is implementation of this agreement,” Thran said.

Except for Pacolli, none of the AKR MPs will become minister (Lajmi)

The New Kosovo Alliance (AKR) is expected to nominate today the leaders of the ministries that already belong to them, as part of the agreement with the PAN coalition.

However, except for the leader of the party, Behxhet Pacolli, who most likely will become Minister for Foreign Affairs, none of the MPs of this party will become a minister.

Molliqaj resigns from the position of Vetevendosje's Organisational Secretary (Lajmi.net)

Dardan Molliqaj has confirmed his resignation from the position of the Organizational Secretary of the Vetevendosje movement.

Molliqaj, who is already elected for the Kosovo Assembly MP in 11 June elections, said that after Vetevendosje’s victory in general elections, he would engage in new challenges of the party. He took to Facebook to write that his decision was made in coordination with the leader of the party, Visar Ymeri.
