Serbian officials on possible new measures of Pristina (Serbian media)

Commenting on possible new measures of Pristina, Serbian Minister of Trade and Telecommunications, Rasim Ljajic said the trade is already stopped, and it is about further political radicalization by Pristina, Serbian media report.

“It is difficult to speculate about Pristina’s new measures,” Ljajic said, adding that “Serbia has some information about it,” but he would not comment before seeing what these measures could be.

Tensions have shown how much it is necessary to lift the measures introduced by Pristina in order to create an environment for Belgrade-Pristina dialogue continuation, Director of the Centre for Foreign Policy, Dragan Djukanovic told RTS.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government has called on interim Kosovo institutions to "end a trade war" with Belgrade, B92 reports.

Merkel's spokesperson Steffen Seibert said Germany has "zero understanding" for Pristina imposing a 100 percent tax on products from central Serbia.

He also told Bloomberg agency that Germany "would have preferred Serbia to allow Kosovo to join Interpol." "We hope that both sides quickly return to dialogue," Seibert said.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met on Friday in Belgrade with US Ambassador Kyle Scott.

They discussed bilateral relations, economic cooperation and the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Tanjug said, citing a press release from the president's office.

Vucic informed Scott that, by introducing taxes on goods from Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Pristina had violated the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA).

Media: Vucic receives blackmail, Belgrade won't accept it (Vecernje Novosti, Tanjug, B92)

Brussels has sent Vucic via diplomatic channels "an indecent proposal," i.e., blackmail: continue the dialogue with Pristina in exchange for new chapters, however Belgrade will not accept it, Belgrade-based media report.

As the Belgrade media further reported, Brussels diplomatic channels put pressure on Belgrade in order to make it play "by the rules dictated by Pristina". Serbia and President Vucic are asked to return to the dialogue, despite Pristina's failure to fulfill any of its obligations under the Brussels agreement.
