Dacic: It is 100 percent true, US threatened Pristina (RTS, BETA, B92)

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minster Ivica Dacic told RTS that based on the information he has, it is 100 percent true that the US has threatened Kosovo to impose some sort of sanction if taxes are not revoked.

Dacic added that in diplomatic circles and talks with people from the State Department one can hear that Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj “if things remain as they were” would not visit US any time soon, respectively his visa will not be granted.

Vucic reacts to Ivanovic's widow referred to as "she devil" (BETA, B92)

Aleksandar Vucic has commented on the insults made at the expense of Milena Ivanovic, to say that he "never understood that kind of insanity and hatred."

The president reacted after one of the leaders of the opposition Alliance for Serbia, Zeljko Veselinovic, referred to the widow of Oliver Ivanovic, a Serb politician from Kosovo who was gunned down in Mitrovica North a year ago, as a "she devil."

In a tweet that has since been removed, Veselinovic said Milena Ivanovic was frequenting nightclubs in the capital and missed her late husband's one-year memorial service.

Albanians arrested for writing UCK on vehicles in Belgrade (Vecernje Novosti, TV N1)

Three Albanians were arrested in Belgrade for writing UCK (the acronym for the Kosovo Liberation Army) in the snow on vehicles, Vecernje Novosti daily reported.

The three men, one from Prizren and two other from Belgrade, aged 20-25 were arrested on the night of January 6-7. The Serbian Orthodox Church celebrates Christmas eve on that night based on the Julian calendar.

Kurz for progress in dialogue, revoking of Pristina’s taxes (Tanjug, RTS)

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz told Tanjug news agency that he expects further progress in Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, which is a precondition for the EU accession process, adding Vienna supports revoking of the taxes introduced by Pristina authorities.

Asked if he expects Belgrade and Pristina would be able to find out a solution by the end of the current EU Commission’s mandate, Kurz underlined that further progress in the dialogue is a crucial precondition for advancement towards the EU.

"US wants Kosovo agreement to be signed like Israel-Egypt" (BETA, Tanjug, Prva TV)

The US is ready to organize the signing of a Belgrade-Pristina agreement modeled on the signing of the peace agreement between Israel and Egypt in 1978. Serbia's First Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic told this to Prva TV in Belgrade on Friday.

Dacic added that everything that has been happening lately shows the solution will not be reached quickly.

Odalovic: Washington may bring Pristina to its senses (RTS, BETA, TV N1)

Secretary General in the Serbian Foreign Affairs Ministry, Veljko Odalovic said on Friday the US President Donald Trump’s letters to Pristina and Belgrade were a message with the best intention to help empower dialogue and the search for a compromise and sustainable solution, BETA news agency reports.

Odalovic added the European Union facilitated talks in Brussels entered a severe crisis due to “Pristina’s irresponsible behavior” and that it was crucial to use days ahead to improve the dialogue.

EU "grateful to Serbia for no counter-measures against PR" (Serbian Government, B92)

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic met on Wednesday in Brussels European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker. Brnabic said after the meeting that she felt "support and gratitude to Serbia during her visit to Brussels for not imposing countermeasures against Pristina, which in particular contributed to regional stability."

Keefe: UK expects progression of dialogue (Danas, FoNet)

UK Ambassador in Belgrade Denis Keefe said late yesterday that the current situation between Belgrade and Pristina should be resolved in dialogue, and although it is facing difficulties now, the Ambassador expressed hope it will progress, Danas daily reports.

We are aware that dialogue at this moment is facing certain difficulties, but we do hope that leaders who were in New York and would meet in Brussels this week, can find a way towards the progress, Ambassador Cliff said, adding he does not wish to talk about the change of borders.

"Only Supreme Commander Vucic can respond to Pristina" (RTS, BETA, B92)

Marko Djuric says that the only one authorized to respond to the measures of the Pristina authorities is "Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vucic."

The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija pointed out that Vucic, Serbia's President, was "in principle opposed to the use of force, and this would be the last option in the event of the endangering of the lives of Serbs in Kosovo."
