Starting today, the four bridges over the Iber River that divides the city of Mitrovica, will be monitored 24/7 by the Kosovo Police station in the north, members of the so-called Civil Protection and members of the Serbian Ministry of Interior Affairs. Unnamed sources told the news site that these structures will monitor all individuals and vehicles that cross the bridges. The same sources said the operational plan was agreed on Thursday after a two-hour meeting at the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo in Mitrovica North. The plan will reportedly be implemented indefinitely.

BELGRADE -- The latest spate of incidents in Kosovo and Metohija "could turn into serious rioting," analyst Dusan Janjic of the Forum for Ethnic Relations has said.

Two Serbs who have been detained following disappearance of a seventeen-year old Albanian   in North Mitrovica are released from the detention, stated lawyer Kaplan Baruti.

Baruti said that a request of the prosecution for placing two Serbs at court custody was rejected and they are released from detention. Two Serbs were detained for 48 hours based on the prosecutors’ request.

BELGRADE -- Incidents in Kosovo on both sides of the Ibar River have in common "great nervousness," according to a Serbian government official, Milivoje Mihajlovic.

In addition, said the head of the Media Office, "the Albanians are trying to obstruct the Brussels agreement and that it will be so as long as incidents end without investigations."

Mihajlovic told the state broadcaster RTS that "incidents that have occurred on both sides of the River Ibar" have in common "the great nervousness that has been lasting 15-16 years."

A 17-year-old Serb boy who was stabbed in the chest near the bridge on the Ibar River in Mitrovica is in a stable condition after he underwent surgery.

Kosovska Mitrovica Heath Center Director Milan Ivanovic made the announcement on Thursday, but did not rule out complications due to the nature of the injuries, saying that his recovery was at the moment progressing as expected.

The Mayor of North Mitrovica Goran Rakic rebutted allegations carried by Pristina-based Kosovapress agency that main bridge over the Ibar/Ibër River will soon open one line for traffic, and that Peace Park will be removed. He said that he is going to sue the author of the text and Kosovapress agency.

MITROVICA - Respect of the coalition agreement remains the only condition for return to Pristina institutions, representatives of the Serb community in the Kosovo government and parliament, said at the meeting with Director of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Marko Djuric.

Director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) Marko Djuric said in Mitrovica on Thursday that Belgrade had implemented all points, from the 7th to the 15th, of the Brussels agreement on the normalization of relations with Pristina.

It now rests with Pristina to implement the first six points of this agreement, Djuric said at a meeting with representatives of local governments in northern Kosovo.

Citing unnamed sources, the news site reports that two vehicles belonging to Kosovo Police officers were set on fire in two separate cases in the northern part of Kosovo on Wednesday evening. One car was set on fire in front of the police station in Mitrovica North, while the other vehicle was set on fire in the Bosniak Mahalla in the north. According to sources, both vehicles were set on fire at the same time.
