Mitrovica civil society against Isa Boletini’s reburial in Vlora (Kosovapress)

Civil society organisations in Mitrovica, expressed discontent with the decision to rebury remains of Isa Boletini in Vlora, Albania, instead of his birthplace, Boletin, in the northern part of Kosovo. Representatives of the civil society said the reburial process was several times rescheduled but the latest decision to change the place of the reburial is outrageous. Mitrovica civil society organisations called on the government of Kosovo to reconsider the recent decision.

Mitrovica municipal assembly to hold extraordinary meeting to discuss reburial of Isa Boletini (Telegrafi)

Mitrovica Mayor Agim Bahtiri has called an extraordinary meeting of the municipal assembly tomorrow to discuss the reburial of the Albanian national hero, Isa Boletini. The move comes after the organizational committee for reburial decided to perform the ceremony in Vlora, Albania, instead of Isa Boletini’s place of birth, Boletin village in the northern part of Kosovo, as originally planned.

Women support the Brussels dialogue (Danas, KoSSev)

Regional dialogue in support to the Brussels Agreement with participation of women representatives of Serbian and Kosovo parliaments and NGO representatives, along with members of the international and regional organizations will be held today in North Mitrovica in organization of the UN Women and Regional Women Lobby.

 More than 130 women from Serbia and Kosovo and the region will take part in dialogue between Serbian and Kosovo MPs and representatives of communities of four municipalities in northern Kosovo.

Belgrade and Pristina could reach an agreement over the Peace Park in North Mitrovica, and one of possible solutions could be that it is transformed into a walking area.

Our side is ready to make a concession and remove the concrete flower pots, however due to security concerns, particularly because of incidents which have been frequent recently, we don’t agree to open it for traffic. Those arguments have been presented in the last round of the dialogue in Brussels and EU officials have shown understanding for Serbia’s stand, Vecernje Novosti reported.

Tahiri: We didn’t discuss Gazivode Lake (Vecernje Novosti/KIM Radio)

Kosovo Minister for dialogue Edita Tahiri says that property of Kosovo was never discussed with the Serbian side and claims that Serbia has recognized Kosovo, by stating where bigger and smaller parts of Gazivode Lake are located.

“I consider that Serbia has recognized the state of Kosovo with this stand point, speaking of where smaller and where bigger parts of the lake are located,” said Tahiri.

Bridges under surveillance (Vesti)

Following a range of incidents in North Mitrovica, all four bridges over the Ibar/Ibë River in the town are under round-the-clock surveillance as of Saturday upon the request of Serbs from the North Mitrovica and in agreement with KFOR , EULEX and the EU.

The Mayor of North Mitrovica Goran Rakić said that presence of KFOR and Kosovo Police officers aims at providing freedom of movement and they will react only in case of new incidents.

Five juveniles arrested after they crossed the bridge (Radio Kontakt Plus)

Five juvenile Albanians have been arrested yesterday afternoon in North Mitrovica after they crossed the main bridge over the Ibar/Ibër River, which separates North and South Mitrovica.

Regional Kosovo Police head of operations Željko Bojić said to Radio Kontakt Plus that batons have been found with two of them.

Parents of juveniles have been informed that their children have been arrested, along with the social service and prosecutor, said Bojić.
