Macedonian police has raised the security level at the higher level following information that members of the “Kumanovo grouop” are preparing revenge attacks in Macedonia, stated spokesman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Macedonia Ivo Kotevski.
Kotevski said to Meta agency that police has learned that members of the group are planning to carry out attacks on vital state premises and kidnappings of police officials.
"The only reason due to which Serbs supported the Brussels agreement was the establishment of the Association / Community of Serb municipalities (ZSO). If this topic will not be discussed in Brussels within a reasonable period, it can produce much bigger problems for Kosovo society and the international community," said Mayor of Gracanica, Vladeta Kostic.
The director of the B92 Fond Veran Matić, stated that commission that should shed the light on destiny of missing Serbian journalists should be formed in Kosovo too, like in case of Slavko Curuvija and others in Serbia proper.
Association/Community of Serb municipalities is the key for survival of Serbs in Kosovo, and will provide strengthening of Serbs and life without the fear, said Belgrade’s Liaison Officer with Pristina Dejan Pavićević to RTK2.
The Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS) and the Association of Journalists of Kosovo and Metohija (DNKiM) for the fourth time set the memorial plaque for missing journalists Djuro Slavuj and Ranko Perinic from Radio Pristina, which were kidnapped in 1998. UNS announced that the plaque will be set on Wednesday, May 27th, on the road Velika Hoca - Zociste, in the municipality Orahovac. The plate was destroyed in the past three years immediately after placing it and so far, Kosovo police have not discovered who and why broke the plaque.
At the session of the Municipal Assembly of Mitrovica North municipal councillors adopted the financial report. Mayor of Mitrovica North Goran Rakic said that budget was unblocked few days ago, adding that he hope that this municipality will use the budget of around six million euros in the right way. “Few days ago we paid workers of Administrative Office and Local Government. In regards to the salaries of teachers and health workers, I am convinced that we will find the right solution that will satisfy both sides. I kindly ask them for patience,” said Rakic.
Three unidentified persons broke into the house of Neda and Miodrag Konic, Serb returnees to Klina/Kline, Kosovo, late Sunday, inflicted bodily harm on them and robbed them, RTK2 reported.
The couple Konic received injuries to the chest, due to multiple blows with a blunt object, Bozidar Sarkovic, the president of the temporary municipal governing body in Klina/Kline, said.
The elderly couple was asleep when the attackers broke in.
The incident was reported to the police and an investigation has been carried out.
The court proceedings, initiated by the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjakova/Djakovica, against Aleksandar Jablanovic represent "a form of political persecution" through the judicial system.
"This is a political matter and it is completely clear. What else could it be? Did he mention "savages Albanians", who identify oneself with the term savages? The people who came out to apply violent methods. Jablanovic did not address either Albanians or Serbs, but those who were violent," Trajkovic said.
The Director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Media Relations Milivoje Mihajlović stated that establishment of the Association/Community of Serb municipalities (A/CSM) in Kosovo is unavoidable and that it will be on the agenda in the course of this month.
Mihajlović said to Radio Television of Serbia that Pristina is trying in all possible ways to avoid an agreement and implementation of the so far reached agreements in Brussels.
Motives of armed group which clashed with the Macedonian police are not yet known, and the moment in which the conflict happened is suitable for people who like “wild goose chase”, says an analyst from Skopje, Saso Ordanoski. “They see the escalation of the situation through multi-ethnic grounds, in order to avoid possible political responsibility for some criminal activities that were done. We do not even know the details about the whole situation, we do not even have information where the other terrorists are, and we do not know how many civilians were killed during the operation.
