Jacobson: Public broadcaster in Serbian language is important for Kosovo (RTK2)

During his visit to RTK2, US Ambassador in Kosovo Tracey Ann Jacobson said that for Kosovo is very important to have a public broadcaster in the Serbian language. She expressed her satisfaction that the RTK2, in less than two years of functioning, managed to meet the needs of program content, specified by the law on RTK. "I know that RTK2 broadcasted nearly 4,000 TV reports and had 1,200 guests. In particular, I congratulate on the diversity of guests, not only in terms of ethnicity, but also the representation of different profiles, from president to the sportsmen.

Withdrawn Draft Law on Cultural Heritage (RTK2)

Draft Law on Cultural Heritage was withdrawn from the Assembly procedure, MPs of the Serbian List point out that not all parties have been involved in the writing of this draft. They announced that in the coming period they will work on the amendment and finalization of the draft of the law so that the law is in line with the rights of all communities in Kosovo. Vice-President of the Assembly, Jasmina Zivkovic expects that next draft law proposals would suit the needs of all ethnic communities in Kosovo.

The existence of Gorani in Kosovo is ignored (RTK2)

A representative of the Gorani community Avni Bahtiari warned on departure of Gorani from Kosovo and the lack of representation in the institutions. Avni Bahtiari told RTK2 that Gorani which are living abroad will be assimilated, pointing out that more and more people are choosing to live in developed European countries, because of the poor economic situation and the position of Gorani in Kosovo society. "Data show that members of non-majority Communities, in particular Gorani, have a minimum representation in the institutions of Kosovo.

Žbogar: I think that there is no trust in Kosovo judiciary (RTK2)

The special court and investigation of crimes during and after conflict are conditions for normalization of relations in Kosovo, said Special Representative of the European Union in Kosovo Samuel Žbogar in RTK2 TV talk show "Razgovor". He assessed that creation of the court is the most difficult thing for Kosovo. “I hope that Kosovo parliament will vote for constitutional amendments in order to clear all accusations which are hanging over Kosovo, and that instead of Kosovo, which is a hostage of those accusations, individuals take over the responsibility.

Serbian list: Law on Cultural Heritage is not in the interests of Serbs (RTK2)

The Draft Law on the Cultural Heritage this week will be on the agenda of the Assembly of Kosovo. Serb representatives believe that the bill is not in the interests of Serbs and announce amendments. "The provisions of the law are too broad and leave a lot of space for resolving outstanding issues which relate to cultural heritage with bylaws.

Abduction attempt of a nine-year old girl from Babin Most (RTK2)

Unknown persons attempted to kidnap a nine-year old girl of Serbian nationality in village Babin Most, Obilić/Obilliq Municipality, said representative of the provisional body of Obilić/Obilliq Municipality (Serbian administration), Nenad Denić. Denić said that incident occurred on 30 April at the junction in that village, when the girl was on her way to school, and added that the case was reported to Kosovo Police and KFOR. He explained that abduction of the girl was attempted by two persons who used a black SUV without registration plates.

No disunity within the Serbian list (RTK2)

After a two-month break, Serbian MPs returned to the assembly, but were not present all parliamentarians of the list at the session held day before yesterday. Five deputies did not attend the Assembly session, a Serbian caucus in the Kosovo parliament, Sasa Milosavljevic, says RTK2 that these MPs were absent due to urgent commitments. Milosavljevic also denies that there was disunity within this list. "Everything functions in a perfect way. Until now we did not have any problems. I hope it will be so in the future.

Jahjaga: Serbia to be conditioned with implementation of agreements (RTK2)

Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga said to German Foreign Minsiter Frank-Walter Steinmeir that the only alternative for Kosovo and the region is the EU integration. Jahjaga stressed that “Kosovo and Serbia have reached certain number of agreements in the process of the dialogue on normalization of relations, and that European path of Serbia has to be conditioned with the implementation of international obligations”. During his meeting with Jahjaga, Steinmeir assessed as important the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, and implementation of the reached agreement
