Serbia’s path to EU depends on Kosovo not on Croatia (Blic)

Despite Zagreb’s announcements that it will again block Belgrade’s negotiations with the EU unless it doesn’t abolish the Law on Universal Jurisdiction, the real threat to Serbia’s European integration actually lays in Chapter 35, which refers to Kosovo.

Chapter 35, which has the same weight in the Negotiation Framework as recently opened Chapters 23 and 24, provides a mechanism for the monitoring of implementation of reached agreements in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

Kosovo Vows to Halt Serb Refugee Settlement (Balkan Insight)

The Serbian government-funded construction of a housing settlement for Serb refugees in northern Kosovo has angered Kosovo officials, who claim it is an attempt to extend Belgrade’s political influence.

The recent start of construction on Sunny Valley, the first big returnee settlement that the Serbian government plans to build in the northern Kosovo town of Zvecan, has caused outrage in Pristina.

Serbs in Belgrade busses arrive at Gazimestan (Koha Ditore)

A group of Serbs arrived in Gazimestan by Kosovo’s official buses, to mark their Vidovdan holiday. Other busses carrying Serbian plates have started to arrive there as well.

As seen in the picture, the bus carries Belgrade vehicle plates, and it is believed that people within the bus are from Serbia as well.

No incidents or provocations were marked so far from these people who are carrying Serbian state flags.

Serbia cannot be neutral and join EU - German official (B92, Vecernje Novosti)

Serbia needs to declare itself in accordance with the foreign policy positions of the EU; a country that wants to join cannot have a neutral position.

No Association without removal of the barricade at  bridge (Lajmi.net)

 The government of Kosovo has conditioned establishment of the Association/Community of Serb-majority Municipalities with removal of the barricade over the Mitrovica bridge and Serbia’s unblocking of international telephone code for Kosovo. Furthermore, Faton Abdullahu, adviser to the Prime Minister of Kosovo, said that with the current stance, Serbia is risking continuance of the dialogue. According to him, normalization of the relations between Kosovo and Serbia strengthens Kosovo’s towards European integration.

Kosovo reports to Brussels: No Association without implementation of prior agreements (Koha)

The Office of Kosovo Prime Minister announced it has submitted to European Union the regular report on the dialogue with Serbia. In it, the government of Kosovo says that the dialogue contributes to peace and stability in the region, good neighbourly relations and regional cooperation, as well as to the advancement Euro-Atlantic integration of Kosovo. With regards to implementation of Brussels agreements, the government of Kosovo claims the reporting period has not marked any substantial progress.
