NATO Chief comments on “border correction” idea (BETA, B92)

NATO strongly supports Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and when it comes to “possible harmonization of borders” it hopes the two sides would find mutually acceptable solution, BETA news agency reports.

According to BETA, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this in Brussels, before the session of NATO diplomacy chiefs, who would, together with EU High Representative Federica Mogherini on Wednesday discuss “NATO’s relations with Western Balkans countries.”

Dacic on delineation: It has not been put aside (BETA, Blic)

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said the idea on delineation between Serbs and Albanians, that might include and border correction, “has not been put aside,” BETA news agency reported.

He added this idea represents “the only concrete initiative”.

Speaking for Blic daily Sunday’s edition, Dacic stressed “the status quo is impossible condition,” and it would result with Serbs vanishing from Kosovo and Metohija, as well as taking over Serbian cultural and religious heritage sites in Kosmet.”

Reactions on Enver Hoxhaj’s “pact statement” (Serbian media)

Serbian media over the weekend reported on the statement Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj made, saying that, on several occasions, he had discussed founding a pact to oppose Serbia and its “aggressive policy” with the leaders of Croatia, Macedonia and Montenegro while visiting those countries.

Pristina-based Koha media outlet is reporting that Solomon Islands has withdrawn it recognition of Kosovo's independence. Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has confirmed this information, B92 reports.

Solomon Islands were among the countries that recently did not vote for Kosovo's admission to Interpol.

Koha writes that this state in Oceania has informed the Kosovo Foreign Ministry in writing about the withdrawal of the recognition of Kosovo.

KTV TV says it had insight into two diplomatic notes sent to the Pristina authorities, koha.net reports.

Blic: Why USA rushes to cut Kosovo knot? (Blic)

Belgrade-based daily Blic writes today that the USA is in a hurry to resolve the Kosovo issue, since any prolongation could place the problem in the hands of Russia, that would have much greater influence over the European Commission after its forthcoming elections.

That is why Trump’s administration is exercising pressure upon Albanians to continue dialogue with Belgrade as soon as possible. US State Secretary Mike Pompeo told Kosovo President Hashim Thaci recently to seize the chance for reaching a historic, comprehensive agreement on normalization of relations with Serbia.

Jevtic: Pristina leads populist politics (RTS)

Outgoing Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communities and Returns. Dalibor Jevtic told RTS that Pristina leaders are leading populist politics, that would at the end, bring harm to the Albanians only, in the sense of possible isolation of the entire society.

Speaking for the RTS morning news edition, Jevtic added the communication with Albanians would continue the very moment they lift decision on taxes on the goods from central Serbia.

Israel rejects Thaci's offer: "Our position is quite clear" (B92)

Israel has refused to recognize Kosovo, Pristina-based Koha is reporting. According to the report, Israel did this "although Hashim Thaci made a good offer to the government of Benjamin Netanyahu."

According to the Director for the Balkans in the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dan Orian, two months ago Thaci suggested that Kosovo should open its diplomatic mission in Jerusalem, in exchange for getting recognized by Israel.

Joksimovic: It is concerning EP did not comment on Albania and PR intents (B92)

Serbian Minister for European Integration, Jadranka Joksimovic said it is concerning that the European Parliament (EP) in no way commented on the fact that Albania clearly demonstrated intent to change borders in the region, B92 reports.

She added Serbian MPS should have done more to point this fact to their colleagues in the EP.
