Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced yesterday that former Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga did not try to enter central Serbia, but that an attempt of violation of security happened, reports KiM radio.

According to the statement, “assessments of individuals that Atifete Jahjaga, citizen of the Republic of Serbia residing in the territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, will not be allowed to enter the territory of central Serbia from the territory of the province, if she attempt to do it on some of the administrative crossings” are intuitive.

“Atifete Jahjaga has not appeared at the Merdare crossing point, but from the territory of AP of Kosovo and Metohija yesterday unidentified male person in civilian clothes has appeared, equipped with means of communication, who has inquired at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia about the details of the visit. The workers of the police at the crossing, following security procedures, immediately informed superiors about this attempt to violate the security of Mrs. Jahjaga,” the statement said.

It is emphasized that Jahjaga did not even try to enter central Serbia, reports KIM radio.

“On this occasion, we remind that the provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina in the past few months on several occasions, contrary to the Agreement on visits of officials and without any grounds, prevented the stay to the citizens and officials of the Republic of Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija. Regardless of this unilateral violation of arrangements agreed in Brussels, Belgrade will continue to consistently implement the Agreement on visits of officials and other agreements “, said the Office for KiM.

The Office added that Pristina unilaterally and without any basis denies the right to many people, because it does not recognize ID cards issued by the displaced police departments from Kosovo, passports of the Republic of Serbia with the tag of the Coordination Directorate for Kosovo at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, as well as Serbian driving permits of citizens who live in Kosovo.
