Czech expert Tomas Dopita from the Institute for International Relations told ‘zpravny.aktualne.cz’ that behind the request for withdrawal of the recognition of Kosovo stands Zaman’s effort to strengthen his position as President.
He said he does not believe that the Czech people sleep and wake up thinking about the issue of Kosovo’s recognition.
“I only see it as a game to gain power. We have a president elected directly from population. I take his statements about Kosovo as an effort to strengthen further his dominant position,” Dopita said.
According to him, Zanam’s statement in front of the media in Belgrade was not spontaneous but a well calculated one.
He however added that he does not believe that withdrawal of recognition of Kosovo will happen, as the Prime Minister of Chez Republic would not accept it.
“He is very pragmatic, and it would not help him in relation with the Western partners to do such a thing,” Dopita said.
