President of the Parliamentary Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun said today that the Serbian presence in Kosovo would be stronger if more Serbs vote in local elections, and added that he expects “more traps” from Pristina which Belgrade must avoid.
“We have to get out of the trap of Pristina, and a trap is that Belgrade withdraws from the election and request that they postpone. In this case, Belgrade would be charged for boycott of the elections,” Drecun told TV B92.
According to him, Pristina wants to discourage Serbs to vote, but Serbia must stop it. “They have a plan which is focused on few Serbs voting in the elections.
Belgrade should not buy into this story; we have to soothe Pristina with a strong diplomatic story, to leave these policies and to move forward,” said Drecun.
Drecun said that Pristina makes the application of the Brussels agreement difficult.
