Slobodan Samardzic, vice president and head of DSS caucus in the Parliament of Serbia announced that his party is moving with campaign for elections in four municipalities in the north that state of Serbia should call.

For DSS local elections in Kosovo are over. Serbs have shown that they do not accept the force and low turnout confirmed what they think about the country they are pushed into – Samardzic told Vesti.

Will DSS lead campaign against Kosovo’s elections?                                                                                                                         We will not take a negative, but a positive one and agitate for elections in four municipalities in the north, where the interim administrations were introduced. The President of the Assembly of Serbia need to call these elections.

 Hunters in troubled waters

How do you comment claims of some parties to amend the Constitution of Serbia?                                           The Constitution presents Serbia’s defence and its territorial integrity and sovereignty, and each of the political actors who present territoriality pinch advocate for change. They are easy to recognize, because they are more for the EU than for their own country. The Constitution of Serbia bothers such people and they hunt in troubled waters in favour of the independence of a part of the national territory.

The government has accused the DSS for the riots in northern Kosovo on election day?                                 They declared our party as instigators and by policy “hold the thief”. We have the facts that people supported by government of Serbia provoked incidents during the vote, and we receive the threat that we will be punished for the violence.

Whether DSS has the answer to these charges?                                                                                                                                   The Inquiry Committee in the Parliament of Serbia and the court will have to deal with it. We already protect Serbia from the Brussels Treaty before the Constitutional Court, and if the system is not capable of defending the country, then it is illegal and dominated by the powerful as the communist and other authoritarian regimes.

How will you protect Marko Jaksic, DSS deputy who is marked as the main organizer of riots?                    We have no physical assets, but we have a legal and institutions. We will require examining the truth of the events and it is the best defense. On Marko Jaksoc side is and the Democratic party, not for defending him in person, but a principle of freedom of thought and political action.
