The process of PTK privatization has failed. A member of the government confirmed for KTV that the Kosovo Government has not signed agreement with AXOS group that had won the bid. The final deadline for signing of the contract was Monday, at midnight.
The Government has not come out with official announcement and has discussed the issue all day yesterday. The ruling party, PDK, failed in having the budget endorsed along with PTK privatization by dropping this item from the law that was later passed by the Assembly.
The process is expected to start all over again but the value of the Kosovo Post and Telecom is likely to drop visibly. In addition, there may be a lawsuit against the Government of Kosovo by the winning company.
