Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti writes in an opinion piece that thanks to dialogue with Thaci in Brussels, Serbia does not have to choose between Kosovo and the European Union and that it is advancing in two directions: in the process of European integration and in its arrangements in Kosovo. “Serbia got both negotiations for membership in the European Union and the Association of Serb majority municipalities in Kosovo … No one in the European Union, same as with other international stakeholders, is even bothering to apply at least some pressure on Belgrade to recognize Kosovo’s independence”. Kurti further notes that Kosovo’s negotiations with Serbia are already a concession and that dialogue between Thaci and Dacic is a negative process that results in bad agreements. “The problem with negotiations between Thaci and Dacic is not the bad result but rather the wrong premise; in other words, not mistakes in negotiations, but rather illusions about negotiations.”
