19 April Agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is “collapsing,” while creation of Union of Serb Municipalities in Kosovo, will not be that easy, said Pantic for Vecernje Novosti.

“I think that Brussels Agreement will collapse very soon. This will not happen because of Serbia’s Government, but because of the international community,” said Pantic.

Neither would creation of the Union of Serb Municipality “have a good flow, and Albanians would also not allow the responsibilities that we would want to have, and which were agreed in Brussels, just as they did not allow creation of new municipalities neutral to status,” he assessed according to RFI.

Pantic, who resigned on Saturday from the position of the Director of the Office of the Government of Serbia for Kosovo,  stated that he can no longer work with Minister Aleksandar Vulin, who according to him, is more dealing with the work concerning his party – Socialist Movement – than state issues.

“I am always ready to serve to the state and nation, but I cannot cooperate with Aleksandar Vulin. This is the reason of my resignation. I cannot see him building infrastructure of the Socialist Movement in Kosovo on the back of Serbian Progressive Party, to which I belong,” said Pantic.

He reiterated that he has not signed the declaration to take over the duty of municipal mayor in northern Mitrovica, because it carried the emblem and other symbols of the Republic of Kosovo.

Asked whether this meant that he would not lead the municipality, Pantic stated that he would “certainly not be mayor of some municipality of the independent Kosovo.”
