Four municipalities in the north of Kosovo waited for the final deadline to inaugurate their assemblies and what made them sign their oaths was the sticker tape used to cover Republic of Kosovo symbols on the official documents. However, while the principle of neutrality put an end to the Serb refusal in the north, the process did not completely end as the mayor of North Mitrovica chose not to attend the event.

The paper says Pantic’s move that was a sign of protest against Kosovo symbols has damaged local authorities in the north. “With this stance, the north’s television saga continues”, declares the paper adding that the failure to constitute municipal assembly in North Mitrovica will also challenge 19 April agreement for normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

The main issue at hand with regards to the north is whether new leadership there will respect or not Kosovo laws, writes the paper. “If they do, we can say that sovereignty and legality are finally reaching the north but if they hesitate, other alternatives to solve the problem need to be sought”, considers the paper.
