MP of Democratic Party of Serbia, Marko Jaksic , said today that the decision of the newly elected mayor of Kosovska Mitrovica, Krstimir Pantic not to give the oath, gave the Serbs a chance to fight for survival in Kosovo and showed that policy of the Government of Serbia is ‘cracking’. “The decision is in favor of the Serbs and Serbian side, and once again shows that policy of (Aleksandar) Vucic towards Kosovo is dishonest and is damaging public and national interests of Serbia. Moreover, entire policy is devastating and is cracking in all segments,” said Jaksic.

According to him, Pantic understood that the local elections in Kosovo were not status neutral.

“Pantic’s decision gave a chance and opportunity for Serbs to continue to struggle for survival in Kosovo,” Jaksic said, adding that Belgrade and Serbian Assembly should call an elections, and not the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga .

“It is expected that Atifete Jahjaga will re-call elections instead of the Serbian Parliament. If she will do it, I believe Serbs will not vote, since they understood that on 3 and 17 November was made a great deception. This gives a chance to the Serbs to survive in Kosovo, “said Jaksic.
