Halil Matoshi observes that holding of joint meetings between governments of different countries, mainly regional ones, is a normal occurrence and the latest such gathering between the governments of Kosovo and Albania is no exception.

For Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, the meeting in Prizren was used to come out of his government’s deficit while his Kosovo counterpart, Hashim Thaçi, used it to cover up even more deficits and scandals of his own government, says Matoshi.

Instead of the two statesmen offering their respective citizens jobs, “they offer flags per capita” and instead of offering safety, they offer chaos, he adds. “Instead of offering social welfare and democracy, they offer folklore, empty symbols and rhetoric”.
