Dacic’s show (Zëri)

Milaim Shefkiu remarks that the Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic on his last trip to Kosovo showed the true face of fifteen years ago when he refused to express regret over crimes Serbia committed in Kosovo. “As if nothing had changed since Milosevic’s time, [Dacic] proved Serbia’s policy has remained unchanged in relation to Albanians and Kosovo”, writes Shefkiu.

Dacic it seems was more concerned over the presence of Kosovo state symbols on the day the northern mayors were sworn in than the mass grave with Albanian bodies in Raska, adds Shefkiu.

He claims that Dacic’s visit raises few questions that need to be addressed including what is Kosovo gaining from talks with Serbia. Dacic said that talks are mainly aimed at strengthening the status of Serbs in Kosovo and reiterated that Serbia will never recognize independence of Kosovo. So far, Serbia managed to go get EU candidate status while Kosovo got a “delayed” SAA and no visa liberalization or even a defined integration agenda.

If all this ‘commotion’ is done to improve Serbia’s image, this dialogue needs to end and “at the end of the day, it is not worth negotiating with a man who is full of Albanian hatred”.
