Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Hajredin  Kuçi during his stay in Brussels, held meetings with representatives of various European Union institutions responsible for strategic review of EULEX mission. EU representatives, led by Hansjorg Haber, chief of EU civilian operations, presented to Kosovo institutions their idea for transitioning of EULEX.

The transition, which has already started in some of the mission’s components, is expected to be intensified in the coming months, until the end of the mandate in June, says a press release issued by the Kosovo Ministry of Justice.

Kuçi presented the views of the Government of Republic of Kosovo whereby he recalled the increase of capacities over the last year, visible strengthening of justice system and reform of judiciary and legislation. The parties exchanged various ideas regarding further reformatting of EULEX, the future form and nature of the mission.

The same stances were presented by the two sides in an official dinner with ambassadors of EU member states.
