Smaller shipment of medicine supplies waits for a week now in Raska, pending necessary documentation and approval of relevant institutions for its shipment to  the Hospital in Kosovska Mitrovica, carried Director of the Hospital Milan Ivanovic to KIM radio.

Ivanovic said that following introduction of the taxation at crossings in northern Kosovo, procedure for transporting medicine and medical material is more complicated than before. “Several times already, we faced problems with the supply of oxygen and certain drugs. We are supposed to submit the request for medicine supply to municipality of Kosovska Mitrovica, which is than requesting further approvals, and we are only allowed to transfer medicine after obtaining such approval. A smaller shipment of medicine is waiting for a week now in Health Center in Raska (Serbia proper), pending all necessary approvals and documents,” explained Ivanovic.

In line with the Brussels agreement between Belgrade and Prisitna, all merchandise coming from Serbia to Kosovo through crossings Jarinje and Brnjak is subject of taxation as of middle December.
