The paper quotes economy experts as saying that the Trepca mining complex should be managed by the Government of Kosovo and be treated same as other publicly-owned enterprises. Meanwhile, the municipality of Mitrovica is calling for a quick adoption of the Law on Trepca by parliament, “in order to save this state wealth”. But the central government is not listening to such initiatives and has failed to say a single word about the mining complex.

Mitrovica mayor Agim Bahtiri told the paper that he gave a three-week deadline to the government to reply about the adoption of the law on Trepca. “Trepca workers are outraged and they will wait another three weeks, and if the law is not adopted, then I cannot stop them from actions that they plan to undertake,” Bahtiri said.
