The Government of isolation (Tribuna)

Secretary General of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Burim Ramadani, says that Kosovo’s citizens are isolated, they will continue to need visas to travel in the western countries, despite the deadlines and promises of the Government, for liberalization. “The Government of Kosovo has not fulfilled the conditions and criteria, it has not engaged sufficiently, it has not succeeded, it has simply failed,” says Ramadani.

“And as if they did not have any political responsibility, they accuse Brussels, claim that Europeans do not love us, that they are doing an injustice, being the worst in this process. If we did not live in Kosovo, perhaps we would trust them. We would perhaps think that the Government does not manipulate, does not deviate the truth, does not blame those that are not to be blamed,” he says.

Brussels on the other hand chose the road of political correctness, making promoting statements on Kosovo’s certain perspective towards the EU, and reiterated for the hundredth time that Kosovo should fulfill conditions and criteria in the war against corruption and organized crime, as well as undertake all the necessary measures to reach improvement on functioning of democratic institutions. The EU never insulted Kosovars, but in a realistic manner made a careful division between what Kosovo citizens want and what Kosovo Government represents.

It is clear that there is no development with this kind of governing. There is no dilemma that good life cannot be achieved with this logic, that in order to change the reality, those responsible should be addressed and punished. “Kosovo citizens will travel to Europe without visas only after obliging the current government to travel without a visa to opposition,” concludes Ramadani.
