According to unofficial information, Ivanović responded to the invitation for a hearing in the southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica.
As stated, Ivanovic was invited to a hearing regarding the allegations from 2011, published in Pristina-based daily Koha Ditore. According to UNMIK’s files regarding the murder of ten of Albanians in northern Mitrovica in 2000, his name is mentioned among the suspects. Ivanovic then dismissed the allegations as ridiculous and baseless, and added that the case was investigated in 2002, but that the UNMIK prosecutor withdrew the indictment.
EULEX spokesperson Irina Gudeljević said that the prosecutor, in the action which the mission carried out this morning in the north, investigates one person, in connection with war crimes.
Gudeljević told news agency Beta that, in accordance with the regulations of the mission, she cannot reveal the identity of the detained person, but added that the prosecutor’s offices examine one person, in connection with a possible war crime. “After this morning’s EULEX action, the person being interrogated by the Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution Office of Kosovo, in connection with alleged war crimes, continues,” said Gudeljević to Beta.
