Reforms moved Kosovo closer to EU (kohaditore.com)

Deputy Minister for European Integration, Gëzim Kasapolli, met today with  Head of the Division for Western Balkans at the German Federal Office, Mr. Hans Ulrich Südbeck and the German Ambassador in Kosovo Peter Blomeyer. They discusses the relations between the two countries, increase of cooperation and additional coordination on the main issues for our country, such as European agenda and international subjectivity of Kosovo.

Deputy Minister Kasapolli stressed the importance of the determination and active approach of the Government of Germany towards the progress of the entire region, and especially Kosovo, on the European agenda. He also requested intensification of cooperation between Kosovo and Germany, in order to fulfill mutual interests, and to contribute on the advance of the entire region.

“The Republic of Kosovo considers the European integration as a process of internal reforms, both from the institutional and social aspect,” said Kasapolli.

Discussions also focused on the Stabilization Association Agreement between Kosovo and EU, the issue of visa liberalization and the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
Mr. Südbeck said among other things that Kosovo should continue with reforms, because they moved Kosovo closer to the EU. He also stressed the importance of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, which produced stability and better regional cooperation for all parties.
