According to our findings, Belgrade and Pristina could soon establish regular postal services. This is one of the results of the talks between the two delegations of Chambers of Commerce, which met on Thursday in Paris, in order to implement the agreement of the technical dialogue, and based on the April agreement, reached in Brussels.

Representatives of two Chambers of Commerce are holding talks on the free movement of goods and services, railway and postal services. On Thursday, a principle agreement on the technical details for the establishment of postal services was reached, which in the next few weeks will be defined in an annex of the agreement. This agreement is signed with Euro-Chamber, under whose auspices the talks are being held, and through which are legally and technically defined all agreements. Accordingly, the mail could start coming in the next month or two.

From recently, the two delegations are meeting every month, in one of the European capitals. Meetings have so far been organized in Budapest, Brussels and Podgorica, and the next should be held in Athens and London. Among other things, so far have been signed the annexes related to the commercial arbitration and exchange of representatives.

Delegation of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, led by President Zeljko Sertić, spoke on the first day of a visit to Paris, in the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Union of Employers (MEDEF), the economic cooperation between Serbia and France. Among other things was discussed organizing an investment conference in Paris, which will be held during the visit of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, on 22 and 23 May.

No request for Council of Europe

“Kosovo has not applied for membership in the Council of Europe. During the meeting between Minister of Kosovo and the CoE Secretary-General we understood that Kosovo will probably submit a formal request in 2014, but it did not happen at the meeting on Wednesday,” said a spokesman of the CoE Secretary-General, Daniel Höltgen.

Some media reported that Enver Hoxhaj informed the CoE Secretary-General, Torbjerna Jagland that Pristina wants to become a member, which was interpreted as the official submission of the request.
