The newest political party, Initiative for Kosovo, is expected to pass the five-percent election threshold in forthcoming elections. Political analysts believe that the party, led by Fatmir Limaj and Jakup Krasniqi, will get votes from electorate of all other parties but the vast majority will come from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).

According to analyst Azem Vllasi the new party will lead to PDK losing its top place at the political scene while political science professor Bekim Baliqi said the emergence of the Initiative for Kosovo is a result of the PDK’s failure to manage internal crises. At the same time, analyst Ardian Arifaj considers that whether the new party will manage to win over electorate from other parties will to a large extent depend on its political offer. “This party has very little time to reveal its visions as elections are not very far,” said Arifaj.
