The Serbian Tennis Association (TSS) announced today that the International Tennis Federation (ITF) has not recognized Kosovo as its member.

“Immediately after the intervention of the TSS, from all the ITF documents, as well as their official website marking the International Day of tennis, all the characteristics of Kosovo were removed,” said the TSS.

The ITF at its official site listed Kosovo among 75 nations which on Monday marked the International Day of tennis. As stated by TSS, “prompt and dynamic response” followed of the Serbian association and the President Vuk Jeremic.

“Jeremic immediately reacted to this ITF process calling the President Francesco Ricci Bitti and asking for an explanation, particularly pointing to the fact that last year the Assembly of European Tennis in Tallinn unanimously rejected Kosovo’s application for entry into the International Tennis Forum,” stated the TSS.
